Eric Gustafson, began focusing his practice in this direction and he is the only Certified Elder Law Attorney* in Central Washington and one of only eight in the entire state. As this area expanded with our aging population, three other attorneys in our firm developed a strong expertise in this field.
The needs of the elderly are many and diverse. As elder law attorneys, we focus on the unique legal needs of the elderly client, utilizing a variety of specialized legal tools and techniques to meet the goals and objectives of the older client.
Some of the specific services provided by elder law attorneys include:
  • Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security
  • Financing Long-term Care and Asset Protection
  • Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation
  • Guardianships and Conservatorships
  • Durable Powers of Attorney
  • Living Wills
  • Wills and Trusts, including Special Needs Trusts
  • Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration
We handle tax and estate planning issues. We counsel clients regarding planning for incapacity with alternative decision making documents. We assist clients in planning for possible long-term care needs, including nursing home care. The rule and standards regarding qualification for long-term care benefits are constantly changing, which requires that we maintain a detailed understanding of the many levels of intricate and shifting laws and regulations.
